DESCRIPTION:Dr Paul Sabatini Assistant Professor Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences McGill University Titre : The role of hypothalamic neurons in obesity’s pathogenesis The seminar will be split over two stories the lab is working which try to understand how energy excess alters hypothalamic neurons and results in obesity. Using the analogy of "looking for keys under a lamppost" I will talk about changes to agouti related protein (Agrp) neurons which we think drive weight gain. Additionally, to "look beyond the lamppost" we performed some sequencing experiments to try and define cell types transcriptionally altered in obesity.
